        2. Event Participation

        2.1 Registration and Payment

Registration for Playfight events and the Facilitator Program is governed by our separate Registration and Payment Policy, which forms part of these terms. Please read it before registering.

        2.2 Presence & Commitment

We ask for full presence from participants throughout an event. If you have a prior commitment that will require you to be absent for part of an event, please let us know in advance.

The use of consciousness-altering substances is not permitted at any point during a Playfight event.

        2.3 Self-Responsibility

Participants take full responsibility for their own actions and the consequences of those actions during a Playfight event. In turn, we ask all participants to commit to respecting their own boundaries and the boundaries of others.

        2.4 Photos and Video

We may take photos and video during events to share among participants and on Playfight's social media channels. We may also focus on specific participants and their personal stories for these purposes. If you have questions or wish to discuss this, you can note it in the registration form or contact us directly.

2.5 Not Therapy or Medical Treatment

Playfight is a physical and relational practice designed to cultivate connection, communication, and self-awareness through embodied play and confrontation. It is **not** psychotherapy, counselling, psychiatric treatment, medical treatment, or any other form of licensed mental health or healthcare service. Unless a facilitator is independently qualified and expressly acting in that separate capacity, facilitators are not acting as therapists, counsellors, or medical professionals when delivering Playfight activities.

Playfight is not a substitute for professional medical, psychiatric, or psychological care. If you have a mental health condition, are in crisis, or are under the care of a medical or mental health professional, please consult that professional before participating, and continue any prescribed treatment. Nothing communicated during a Playfight activity should be understood as a diagnosis, treatment plan, or professional recommendation.

2.6 Physical Nature of the Activities and Assumption of Risk

Playfight activities involve physical contact, physical exertion, and simulated or playful physical confrontation between participants. As with any contact-based physical activity, there is an inherent risk of physical injury, as well as the possibility of intense emotional or psychological experiences arising from the activity's confrontational and relational format.

By registering for or participating in a Playfight activity, you acknowledge and voluntarily assume these risks. You are solely responsible for assessing your own physical and psychological fitness to participate, for disclosing to the facilitator any relevant medical condition, injury, or limitation before participating, and for consulting a doctor or other qualified professional in advance if you have any doubt about your fitness to take part.

        2.7 Voluntary Participation

Participation in all Playfight activities, including specific exercises within an activity, is voluntary. You may decline any exercise and may stop or withdraw from an activity at any time, without needing to give a reason.

        ---

        3. Independent Local Facilitators

Local Playfight Facilitators are independent professionals who organise and deliver their own activities at their own discretion. They are solely responsible for the organisation, management, and delivery of their events, including participant management, communications, venue selection, risk assessment, health and safety measures, insurance, and legal and regulatory compliance.

Participation in a local Playfight event constitutes a relationship solely between the participant and the individual facilitator. Local Playfight Facilitators are not employees, agents, partners, or legal representatives of Playfight International, and Playfight International is not responsible for the acts, omissions, decisions, or services of independent facilitators. Where a facilitator collects participant data for their own event using their own tools, Playfight International has no access to and no responsibility for that data.

Facilitators who have completed Playfight training are authorised to use the Playfight methodology and are expected to uphold its principles and standards while exercising their own independent professional judgement in the organisation and facilitation of their activities. Certification or authorisation to use the Playfight methodology does not create an employment, agency, partnership, or joint venture relationship with Playfight International.

        ---

        4. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Playfight International excludes liability for personal injury, emotional distress, loss, or damage arising from participation in Playfight activities, except where such liability arises from gross negligence, wilful misconduct, or cannot be excluded under mandatory law. This limitation applies in addition to, and without prejudice to, the allocation of responsibility to independent facilitators set out in Section 3.

        ---

        5. Privacy Policy

        5.1 Who We Are

Playfight International OÜ (registry code 17051421, registered at Karamelli 2 // Pärnu mnt. 139b - 14, Tallinn, 11317, Estonia) is the data controller responsible for the personal data described in this policy, except where noted otherwise. You can reach us with any privacy question through our contact form.

5.2 What Data We Collect and Why

Purpose | Data collected | Legal basis.

Contact form | Name, email, message content | Your consent / our legitimate interest in responding to you |

Newsletter | Email address, subscription confirmation | Your consent.

Event registration | Name, email, and any information you choose to provide in the registration form.

Performance of a contract with you / your consent for optional fields.

Playfight Academy applications | Name, contact details, and application information | Your consent / steps prior to entering into a contract.

Website analytics | Usage data via Google Analytics (see 5.6) | Legitimate interest in understanding and improving our website.

Spam and bot protection | Data collected via Google reCAPTCHA (see 5.7) | Legitimate interest in protecting our website from abuse.

We only collect the personal data that is relevant to the above purposes. Providing it is generally voluntary, but where it is necessary for a purpose (e.g. registering for an event), we cannot complete that purpose without it.

5.3 Tools We Use to Process Data

We use the following third-party services to process personal data on our behalf:

        - Google workspace — for collecting and storing event registrations and facilitator applications.

        - Brevo — for sending our newsletter and other email communications.

        - Google Analytics — for understanding website usage.

Where these providers process data outside the European Economic Area (in particular Google, based in the United States), the transfer is carried out under an approved legal mechanism such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. You can request more detail on this from us via our contact form.

5.4 How Long We Keep Your Data

We retain personal data for as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected for, and in any case until you ask us to delete it. For example, newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe; event registration data is kept for as long as needed to organise the event and meet any related legal or accounting obligations. You may request deletion at any time, subject to any data we are legally required to retain (e.g. for tax or accounting purposes).

5.5 Forwarding of Data to Third Parties

We do not sell or forward your personal data to third parties beyond the service providers listed in Section 5.3, except where we are legally required to do so (e.g. to a public authority).

Where a Local Facilitator organises their own event using their own registration tools, Playfight International does not receive or process that data — see Section 3.

        5.6 Cookies and Google Analytics

We use cookies to allow the website to function and to understand how visitors use our site. Some cookies are strictly necessary for the site to work; others (such as those used by Google Analytics) are only set with your consent, given via the cookie banner shown when you first visit the site. You can withdraw or change your consent at any time through your browser settings or the cookie banner, if available.

Google Analytics is provided by Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC. For more information, see [Google's Privacy Policy](https://policies.google.com/privacy).

        5.7 Google reCAPTCHA

We use Google reCAPTCHA to protect our forms from automated abuse and spam. reCAPTCHA analyses visitor behaviour (such as IP address, time spent on the page, and mouse movements) and shares this data with Google. This runs automatically in the background when you use a protected form. This processing is based on our legitimate interest in keeping our website secure. For more information, see [Google's Privacy Policy](https://policies.google.com/privacy) and [Google reCAPTCHA's terms](https://www.google.com/recaptcha/about/).

        5.8 YouTube

Where we embed YouTube videos on our site, visiting a page with an embedded video establishes a connection to YouTube's servers (operated by YouTube, LLC, and Google), which are informed that you visited that page. If you are logged into a YouTube/Google account, YouTube may link this to your account; you can prevent this by logging out of YouTube before visiting. This is based on our legitimate interest in presenting our content effectively. For more information, see [Google's Privacy Policy](https://policies.google.com/privacy).

        5.9 Children and Family Events

Most of our website and services are intended for adults. However, we sometimes offer events and activities designed for parents and children together.

Where an event involves a participant under 18, that participant's parent or legal guardian must complete the registration and provide their consent on the child's behalf. We do not knowingly collect personal data directly from a person under 18 without the involvement of a parent or guardian in that process.

If you believe a child has provided us with personal data without appropriate parental or guardian consent, please contact us via our contact form and we will delete it promptly.

        5.10 Your Rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to:

        - Access the personal data we hold about you

        - Request correction of inaccurate data

        - Request deletion of your data

        - Restrict or object to certain processing

        - Request a copy of your data in a portable format

        - Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent

You can exercise any of these rights by contacting us through our contact form. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate (Andmekaitse Inspektsioon, www.aki.ee), or with the supervisory authority in your own country of residence.

        5.11 Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data. However, transmitting information over the internet (such as by email or web form) always carries some inherent security risk that cannot be fully eliminated. We cannot be held liable for damages resulting from security breaches beyond our reasonable control, except where liability cannot be excluded under mandatory law.

        ---

        6. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of Estonia. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of this website shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Estonia, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you may have to bring proceedings in your own country of residence.
