      • AGREEMENTS

This page outlines how we care for each other in Playfight spaces.

Please read it carefully before joining an event.

      • Entering the practice

Playfight is guided embodied confrontation. Through physical play we meet each other with presence, strength and care. It can stir deep emotions, open old stories, or awaken new strength. That’s why we hold clear agreements, so every step is taken with respect.

        The golden agreement

To keep our space safe, we ask every participant to agree to one simple statement.

        — I do our best not to hurt ourselves or each other. —

This is valid for both intentional and non intentional harm. We don't create harm deliberately, for example with submission holds (like in martial arts) and not by accident. We stay mindful of how we use our bodies, and of our own limits and the limits of others.

        Safety is shared

In Playfight, we are all responsible for safety. Yours and everyone else's.

Playfight involves strength and physical confrontation. So the risk of injury is part of the practice. We do our best to keep that risk as low as we can.

Small bruises, scratches and sore muscles are normal. Expect them now and then.

Pain should not happen here. Everyone feels it in their own way, so only you know what is too much. If something hurts, say stop and let a facilitator know.

        This is not therapy

Our work can have therapeutic effects yet it's not a therapeutic process.

We don’t offer treatment for trauma, mental illness, or replace professional care.

We work in a group. Support is shared within the circle, not through ongoing one-to-one follow-up.

If you’re moving through trauma or emotional instability, we ask you to have professional support in place before

        stepping in.

        Self-responsibility

When you join, you step in as the author of your experience. That means:

        • Saying yes or no from your truth.
        • Taking breaks when needed.
        • Asking for help if things get too much.
        • Letting facilitators know if you feel unsafe or overwhelmed.
        • Owning your reactions rather than blaming others.
        • Noticing the impact of your choices.
        • Taking charge of your integration after the event.

Facilitators will support you in the group frame, but no one can take your place in caring for yourself.

Please tell the facilitator about injuries, surgeries, pregnancy or anything that limits you. Best before we start. Old injuries count too. You know your body best, and we'll adapt where we can.

        Being prepared

Playfight is physical. You'll touch and be touched, and it can get sweaty. If that's too much on a given day, that's okay. You can sit out whenever you like.

We ask you to come fresh, healthy and clear.

Fresh. Please shower before you come and wear clean clothes. Bring a spare t-shirt if you know you sweat a lot. Short nails help. Avoid strong parfumes.

Healthy. If you feel sick, please rather stay home. Same for contagious skin conditions.

Clear. Please no alcohol or drugs before a session. We'd like you to be present.

        After care

After the session give yourself time to rest, integrate, and connect with what emerged.

You can also reach out the facilitator individually if you need.
